Commando (DVD, Region 2, PAL)
Arnold Schwarzenegger stars in Commando, one of the defining action films of the 1980s.
Schwarzenegger plays John Matrix, a retired elite commando who has left his violent past behind to live quietly with his daughter Jenny, played by Alyssa Milano. His peaceful life comes to an abrupt end when Jenny is kidnapped and Matrix is forced back into action.
With only a few hours to find his daughter, Matrix launches a relentless one-man rescue mission. Assisted by an initially reluctant flight attendant, played by Rae Dawn Chong, he fights his way through the men responsible in an explosive combination of military action, memorable one-liners and classic Schwarzenegger firepower.
Directed by Mark L. Lester and produced by Joel Silver, Commando also features Vernon Wells as Bennett and a score by James Horner. It remains a highly recognizable example of the larger-than-life action cinema that made Schwarzenegger one of the biggest stars of the decade.
