When King Harold falls ill, Shrek suddenly finds himself next in line to rule the kingdom of Far Far Away. Being a king, however, is about the last thing Shrek wants. Determined to find another suitable heir, Shrek sets off with Donkey and Puss in Boots to track down Fiona's young cousin, Arthur.
Meanwhile, Prince Charming has plans of his own. Gathering an army of fairy-tale villains, he attempts to seize control of Far Far Away while Shrek is away. Fiona and the kingdom's princesses must defend themselves as Shrek tries to convince the reluctant Arthur that he has what it takes to become king.
Packed with comedy, colourful characters and fast-paced animated adventure, Shrek the Third brings back Shrek, Fiona, Donkey and Puss in Boots alongside a large cast of familiar and new fairy-tale characters.
