Timecop (DVD, Region 2, PAL)
Timecop is a fast-paced 1994 science-fiction action thriller starring Jean-Claude Van Damme and directed by Peter Hyams.
In the near future, time travel has become a reality. Unfortunately, the ability to travel into the past creates an entirely new form of crime. Criminals can alter historical events, manipulate financial markets and potentially reshape the future for their own benefit.
To combat this threat, the Time Enforcement Commission (TEC) is established with one essential rule: nobody is allowed to travel into the past for personal gain.
Van Damme stars as Max Walker, a TEC agent whose wife was murdered years earlier. While investigating illegal time travel, Walker uncovers a dangerous conspiracy that reaches far beyond ordinary crime. His mission ultimately gives him the opportunity to confront events from his own past, but changing history could have devastating consequences.
Combining time-travel science fiction, conspiracy-thriller elements, martial-arts action and Van Damme's trademark physical performance, Timecop became one of the actor's best-known 1990s films.
