Dollar for the Dead (DVD, PAL, Region 2)
Dollar for the Dead is a 1998 action Western directed by Gene Quintano, starring Emilio Estevez, William Forsythe and Howie Long. Designed as an energetic tribute to the classic spaghetti Western, the film combines gunslinging, treasure hunting and larger-than-life action with visual influences from Sergio Leone and action cinema.
The story centres on a mysterious gunslinger known as The Cowboy (Estevez) and Dooley (Forsythe), who each possess one of four gun handles. When combined, the four pieces reveal the location of a fortune in gold worth half a million dollars. Their search for the remaining pieces becomes increasingly dangerous as the ruthless Regulators and Red Legs close in, eventually leading the group toward a Mexican town controlled by Federal soldiers.
This Dutch Bridge Pictures / TNT Original DVD presents the film in English with Dutch subtitles, a 4:3 picture format and Hi-Fi Stereo audio. The rear cover specifies a running time of approximately 95 minutes and Region 2 (PAL) playback.
