Ghost Ship (DVD, PAL, Region 2)
A terrifying voyage into the unknown awaits in Ghost Ship (2002), a supernatural horror thriller directed by Steve Beck and produced by the team behind House on Haunted Hill and Thirteen Ghosts.
Starring Julianna Margulies, Gabriel Byrne, Ron Eldard, Desmond Harrington and Isaiah Washington, Ghost Ship combines chilling supernatural encounters, disturbing mysteries and atmospheric maritime horror.
When a mysterious passenger liner is discovered drifting in international waters, a professional salvage crew sees an opportunity for an extraordinary payday.
Led by Captain Sean Murphy (Gabriel Byrne) and salvage expert Maureen Epps (Julianna Margulies), the crew ventures into the remote Bering Sea to investigate the abandoned luxury ocean liner Antonia Graza.
The enormous vessel has been missing for decades, and its sudden reappearance raises unsettling questions. Although the ship appears deserted, strange noises, unexplained sightings and terrifying discoveries suggest that the crew may not be alone.
As they explore the decaying corridors and luxurious interiors, the salvagers uncover fragments of the ship's disturbing history. What begins as a lucrative recovery mission soon becomes a desperate struggle for survival against an ancient and malevolent presence.
Featuring an unforgettable opening sequence, eerie visual effects and a claustrophobic setting aboard an abandoned ocean liner, Ghost Ship delivers a distinctive combination of mystery, suspense and supernatural horror.
Directed by Steve Beck, who also directed Thirteen Ghosts (2001), the film is a notable example of early 2000s supernatural horror cinema.
