Monster: Complete Series (3-DVD, PAL, Region 2)
Monster is a dark Norwegian crime thriller from the Lumière Crime Series, presented here as the complete seven-episode series across three DVDs.
Set in a small community in northern Norway, the story begins when a series of brutal murders shakes the isolated village. Ambitious investigator Joel Dreyer (Jakob Oftebro) is assigned to the case and must work alongside local detective Hedda Hersoug (Ingvild Holthe Bygdnes), who has recently returned home carrying troubles of her own. Their uneasy partnership becomes increasingly strained as fear, suspicion, false rumours and old secrets spread through the community.
The series combines a murder investigation with the bleak landscapes, psychological tension and morally complex characters associated with Nordic noir. The production also features Bjørn Sundquist, Gørild Mauseth, Agnes Born and Per Kjerstad and was awarded the European Script Award, as highlighted on the packaging.
This Lumière release contains all 7 episodes on three DVDs, with an approximate running time of 7 × 60 minutes. The photographed edition has Norwegian Dolby Digital 5.1 audio, Dutch subtitles, PAL video and a 16:9 / 2.35:1 presentation.
