Pussycat – Pussycat (LP Vinyl, 1A 022-58023, 1980)
This Pussycat LP is a Dutch Music For Pleasure compilation featuring 12 recordings by the popular Dutch group, including their signature international hit “Mississippi.” The collection also includes Smile, Hey Joe, Boulevard De La Madeleine, Let Freedom Range, Home and Love In September.
The songs represented here originate from the group's successful 1970s period, with individual tracks on the sleeve carrying copyright dates from 1976 through 1979. This particular compilation was issued in 1980 by Music For Pleasure in the Netherlands under catalogue number 1A 022-58023. The yellow MFP labels carry the STEMRA rights designation, and the rear sleeve states “printed in Holland © ℗ 1980 MFP Holland.”
The record comes in its original full-colour picture sleeve featuring the band on the front. The reverse combines the track listing with miniature artwork advertising other Music For Pleasure releases of the period, giving the sleeve a distinctive vintage budget-label presentation.
