Queen of the South Seas: Part 2 (VHS, PAL)
Queen of the South Seas is a historical adventure mini-series starring Barbara Carrera as Emma, alongside Hal Holbrook, Steve Bisley, E.G. Marshall and Rebecca Rigg. This VHS contains Part 2 (Deel 2) of the production.
The story is based on the remarkable life of Emma Eliza Coe, a woman who became an influential figure in the South Pacific during the second half of the nineteenth century. The drama follows Emma from her origins as the daughter of a Samoan princess and American consul Jonas Coe through a life involving international travel, commerce, political intrigue, romance and the colonial world of the Pacific.
The production moves between locations and historical settings including New Guinea, San Francisco, the White House, Berlin and Monte Carlo, presenting Emma's rise through a world of wealth, political influence and personal relationships.
This is the Dutch VDN VHS edition of Part 2. The rear sleeve specifically identifies the production as a mini-series, with English spoken dialogue, Dutch subtitles, colour presentation, and an approximate total running time of 200 minutes for the mini-series. Please note that the 200-minute figure printed on the packaging appears to refer to the complete mini-series rather than necessarily to this individual Part 2 cassette.
