The Spiderwick Chronicles (DVD, PAL, Region 2)
The Spiderwick Chronicles is a 2008 family fantasy adventure based on the popular children's book series by Tony DiTerlizzi and Holly Black. Directed by Mark Waters, the film stars Freddie Highmore in the dual roles of twin brothers Jared and Simon Grace, alongside Sarah Bolger, Mary-Louise Parker, David Strathairn and Nick Nolte.
After the Grace family moves into the secluded and mysterious Spiderwick Estate, Jared discovers Arthur Spiderwick's Field Guide, an extraordinary book documenting a hidden world of magical creatures. The discovery soon reveals that goblins, fairies and other fantastic beings are much closer than the family ever imagined. Jared and his siblings must protect the book and its secrets when dangerous creatures begin pursuing them.
