The Resurrection (DVD, PAL, Region 2)
The Resurrection (Opstandelsen) is a Danish independent zombie-horror production from 2010, directed by Casper Haugegaard and starring Marie Frohmé Vanglund, Mads Althoff, Jonas Bjørn Andersen and Roxanne Tirkov. Marketed on this Dutch release as a dose of Danish zombie splatter, the film combines a grim church setting with bloody survival horror.
A family gathers at a church to say farewell to their recently deceased father. Their mourning is abruptly interrupted when the dead begin to rise from their graves. Trapped inside the church and confronted with an increasing number of zombies, the survivors must find a way out before they join the undead themselves.
This Another World Entertainment DVD contains the original Danish-language film with both Dutch and English subtitles. The rear cover specifies anamorphic widescreen presentation and Danish Dolby Digital 2.0 and 5.1 audio. The listed running time is approximately 50 + 28 minutes, reflecting the main programme and additional material.
