The Contract (DVD, PAL, Region 2)
The Contract is a 2006 action thriller directed by Bruce Beresford, starring Morgan Freeman and John Cusack.
While camping in the wilderness with his son Chris, Ray Keene (John Cusack) unexpectedly becomes involved in the capture of professional assassin Frank Carden (Morgan Freeman). Carden is wanted for a series of serious crimes, and Ray decides to ensure that he is delivered to the authorities. The situation quickly becomes more dangerous when Carden's associates begin tracking them through the wilderness, turning their journey into a tense race for survival.
The combination of Freeman as the experienced and calculating assassin and Cusack as an ordinary father forced into an extraordinary situation gives the film a strong cat-and-mouse dynamic, with crime, action and wilderness-survival elements.
