The Frozen Ground (DVD, PAL, Region 2)
Based on shocking true events, The Frozen Ground (2013) is a gripping crime thriller starring Nicolas Cage, John Cusack, Vanessa Hudgens and Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson.
Set against the cold and unforgiving landscape of Alaska during the 1980s, the film follows determined state trooper Jack Halcombe (Nicolas Cage) as he investigates a series of disappearances and murders involving young women.
As evidence begins to point towards seemingly respectable family man Robert Hansen (John Cusack), Halcombe becomes convinced that he has uncovered a dangerous serial killer. With the help of Cindy Paulson (Vanessa Hudgens), a young woman who narrowly escaped Hansen, the investigation develops into a tense race against time to prevent further victims.
Written and directed by Scott Walker, The Frozen Ground combines atmospheric suspense, powerful performances and a disturbing real-life criminal investigation.
