The story follows climber Peter Garrett (Chris O'Donnell) as he becomes involved in a dangerous rescue mission on K2, one of the world's most formidable mountains. After his sister Annie and members of her expedition become trapped following a disaster, Peter assembles a rescue team and heads into extreme conditions where avalanches, unstable terrain and the effects of high altitude make every decision potentially life-threatening.
