John Denver – An Evening with John Denver (2× Vinyl LP, 1975, RCA Victor CPL2-0764, Stereo, USA)
An Evening with John Denver is a double live album by American singer-songwriter John Denver, released in 1975 on RCA Victor. Capturing Denver during one of the most successful periods of his career, the album showcases his warm vocals, expressive acoustic guitar playing and distinctive blend of folk, country and soft rock.
Recorded during his 1974 concert performances, this album brings together some of Denver's most celebrated songs alongside traditional folk material, instrumental performances and audience favourites.
The collection includes memorable recordings of Rocky Mountain High, Take Me Home, Country Roads, Annie's Song, Sunshine on My Shoulders, Thank God I'm a Country Boy and Leaving on a Jet Plane, as well as lesser-known compositions that highlight Denver's musical versatility.
Produced by Milt Okun, with orchestral arrangements conducted by Lee Holdridge, the album combines intimate acoustic performances with fuller instrumental arrangements. Denver's relaxed stage presence and connection with his audience are central to the recording.
This 1975 RCA Victor stereo edition, catalogue number CPL2-0764, contains two black 12-inch vinyl records with the classic orange RCA Victor labels.
