Milva – Von Tag zu Tag: Lieder von Mikis Theodorakis (Vinyl LP, Metronome, 1978, 0060.103)
Experience a remarkable collaboration between two celebrated figures of European music with Milva – Von Tag zu Tag: Lieder von Mikis Theodorakis, a German-language vinyl album released in 1978 on the Metronome record label.
This distinctive recording brings together the powerful, expressive voice of Italian singer Milva and the compositions of internationally renowned Greek composer Mikis Theodorakis, whose music became closely associated with Greek cultural identity, political expression and European artistic tradition.
A Musical Collaboration Across Cultures
Milva, affectionately known as La Rossa because of her signature red hair, was one of Europe's most versatile and accomplished vocal performers. Throughout her career, she explored Italian popular music, German chanson, theatrical songs and international compositions.
On Von Tag zu Tag, Milva interprets ten compositions by Mikis Theodorakis in German, creating a deeply emotional musical experience that combines Mediterranean influences with sophisticated European chanson.
The German lyrics were written by Thomas Woitkewitsch, whose adaptations helped introduce Theodorakis's compositions to a wider German-speaking audience.
The songs explore universal themes of love, longing, loneliness, everyday life, memory and human relationships.
