Milva – The Original Milva (Vinyl LP, Stereo, Metronome/Ricordi, 1976, 0045.001)
Discover the remarkable voice and artistic versatility of Italian singer Milva with The Original Milva, a vintage vinyl compilation released in 1976 as part of the distinctive The Original series.
Issued by Ricordi and distributed in West Germany by Metronome Musik GmbH, this 12-inch stereo LP presents eleven recordings highlighting Milva's extraordinary ability to move between Italian popular songs, European chanson, theatrical music and international repertoire.
An Iconic Voice of European Music
Born Maria Ilva Biolcati in 1939, Milva became one of Italy's most celebrated singers, admired for her powerful voice, dramatic stage presence and sophisticated interpretations.
Affectionately known as La Rossa because of her distinctive red hair, she achieved international recognition through appearances at the Sanremo Music Festival, television performances and theatrical productions.
Her musical career extended far beyond traditional Italian pop. Milva developed a particularly strong connection with German-speaking audiences and became known for her interpretations of songs associated with Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill.
This compilation reflects that remarkable musical diversity.
