Five friends head to an isolated cabin for what should be a relaxing weekend away, but their trip quickly turns into something far stranger and more terrifying. What initially appears to be a familiar cabin-in-the-woods horror story soon develops into an inventive genre-bending mystery filled with unexpected twists.
Created by Drew Goddard and Joss Whedon, and starring Chris Hemsworth, Kristen Connolly, Anna Hutchison, Fran Kranz and Jesse Williams, the film combines horror, dark comedy and satire into a clever take on classic horror conventions.
This Dutch FilmWorks Limited Edition is particularly attractive for collectors. It includes both the Blu-ray and DVD, with the Blu-ray presenting the film in Full HD 1080p, 2.35:1 widescreen and DTS-HD Master Audio. More than two hours of bonus material is included, covering the production, visual effects, make-up and animatronic work.
The standout feature is the unusual special pop-up outer packaging, which unfolds to create a three-dimensional representation of the cabin. The photographs show that the original pop-up packaging, Blu-ray case and both original discs are present. The playing surfaces also appear exceptionally clean.
