The Crazies (DVD, PAL, Region 2)
The Crazies (2010) is an intense American horror thriller directed by Breck Eisner and starring Timothy Olyphant, Radha Mitchell, Joe Anderson and Danielle Panabaker.
A modern remake of George A. Romero's 1973 cult horror film, The Crazies delivers a chilling combination of psychological terror, suspense and relentless survival action.
In the quiet farming community of Ogden Marsh, Kansas, an unexplained contamination of the local water supply begins turning ordinary residents into violent and unpredictable killers. As the mysterious infection spreads, the once-peaceful town descends into chaos.
Sheriff David Dutton (Timothy Olyphant) and his wife Judy (Radha Mitchell) soon discover that the growing danger is far more serious than anyone could have imagined. With their neighbours becoming increasingly dangerous and the authorities imposing extreme containment measures, they must fight to escape before it is too late.
Combining a disturbing atmosphere, gripping action sequences and a terrifying outbreak scenario, The Crazies is an excellent choice for fans of infection horror, survival thrillers and modern zombie-style cinema.
