Lara Croft: Tomb Raider is the 2001 action-adventure adaptation of the hugely successful Tomb Raider video game franchise, starring Angelina Jolie as the fearless archaeologist and adventurer Lara Croft.
Lara is drawn into a dangerous race to recover the pieces of an ancient artefact known as the Triangle of Light. The mysterious object possesses an extraordinary ability to manipulate time, but it can only be used during a rare planetary alignment. When the secretive Illuminati attempt to obtain the artefact for their own purposes, Lara must reach it first.
Her search takes her from the Croft family estate in England to spectacular ancient ruins in Cambodia and the frozen landscapes of Siberia. Along the way she faces heavily armed enemies, deadly traps, ancient mysteries and rival adventurer Alex West, played by Daniel Craig.
Directed by Simon West, the film combines archaeological mystery, fantasy, elaborate stunts and fast-paced action with many of the elements that made the original games famous. The supporting cast includes Jon Voight, Iain Glen, Noah Taylor and Daniel Craig.
This Special Collector's Edition is presented on Region 2 PAL DVD in widescreen with Dolby Digital audio and multiple European subtitle options. It comes in a distinctive Star Metalpak metal case, making it a more collectible alternative to the standard DVD release.
