Ludwig van Beethoven – Symphonies Nos. 2 & 5, performed by the Wiener Philharmoniker (Vienna Philharmonic) under conductor Claudio Abbado, is a Deutsche Grammophon digital classical recording pairing two major works from Beethoven's symphonic repertoire.
The programme opens with Symphony No. 2 in D major, Op. 36, an important work from Beethoven's early period that already demonstrates his move beyond the conventions of the Classical symphony. It is followed by the monumental Symphony No. 5 in C minor, Op. 67, one of the most recognizable and influential compositions in Western classical music.

An interesting manufacturing detail is visible on this particular copy: while the rear artwork states “Printed in West Germany / Made in West Germany,” the actual CD is marked “Made in France by PMDC.” For accurately identifying this physical copy, I would therefore list the disc pressing as France / European edition, rather than simply calling it a West German pressing.
The CD comes in its standard jewel case with the original Deutsche Grammophon artwork. Based on the supplied photographs, the disc appears well preserved with only light signs of previous handling.
