Discover the expressive voice of legendary Italian singer Milva with Wenn wir uns wiederseh’n, a German-language studio album released in 1979 on the Metronome record label.
Known internationally as La Rossa for her distinctive red hair and powerful stage presence, Milva became one of Europe's most celebrated vocal performers. Her musical career embraced traditional Italian songs, German Schlager, French chanson, theatrical music and sophisticated orchestral pop.
Wenn wir uns wiederseh’n captures Milva's distinctive interpretation of classic romantic melodies, combining emotionally rich vocals with elegant arrangements and nostalgic European songwriting.
A Tribute to Classic European Songwriting
This 12-track album presents German-language interpretations of romantic standards and well-known compositions, including songs associated with the celebrated Austrian composer Robert Stolz.
Highlights include Schön war's heute Abend, Träum mit mir vom Glück, Oh, Taborin, Warum macht Liebe so einsam, and the title track Wenn wir uns wiederseh’n.
The recordings feature sophisticated orchestral arrangements by Natalie Massara, blending traditional Schlager melodies with the elegance of European chanson and easy-listening music.
Recorded at Hansa Studio III in Berlin during March and April 1979, the album reflects the polished studio production characteristic of late-1970s German popular music.
